Since 2024, Ralf Gloudemans and artist Jesse Fischer have been developing an ongoing collaboration in ceramic objects. The works bring together Ralf’s digitally sculpted ceramic forms and Jesse’s illustrated narratives, creating objects that move between design, image, vessel and story.

The design and production of the objects are by Ralf. The illustrations beneath the glaze are created by Jesse Fischer. This division of roles is not treated as a separation, but as a meeting point: Ralf’s forms become carriers for Jesse’s drawings, while the illustrations respond to the body, openings and surface of the ceramic object.

The first works in the collaboration include Alectryon, Leda and Lykos. These pieces were presented as part of PASS THAT DUTCH at MOYA in 2024. Their blue narratives touch on themes of parenthood, death and rebirth, and blend the conceptual worlds of both makers into a shared visual language.

The collaboration later expanded with objects such as Aer and Okeanos, and continues to develop through new additions. Each work starts from a sculptural ceramic body, but gains another layer through drawing, story and glaze. The image does not sit on top of the object as decoration; it becomes embedded within the surface, held beneath the transparent matte glaze.

Together, the works form a collection of ceramic objects that bridge the roles of artist and designer. They are digitally born, physically crafted and narratively charged: objects in which form, surface and image become inseparable.
