Vigil
ARTEFACTS — Repetition, Interrupted

Vigil is a ceramic 3D-printed candleholder form within the ARTEFACTS series. The form is built as a solitary carrier: a narrow, upright shaft that rises from a heavier, grown base toward a single candle.

The visible layer structure gives the object a rhythmic skin in which movement, material and gravity remain readable. Vigil stands like a small watcher: still, vertical and concentrated around the act of carrying one point of light.

The name Vigil comes from the world of watching, waiting and wakefulness. It refers to a state of attentive stillness: remaining present, guarding and carrying light without needing movement or gesture.

Each version is unique because of the production method. Pressure, drying, firing and material behaviour leave subtle differences in every object.
