Eidra is a ceramic 3D-printed bust form within the ARTEFACTS series. The object starts from the recognisable typology of a portrait bust, but appears as a fragmented presence: human, distorted and built up from visible layers.

The faceted form and ceramic print lines do not make the face smooth or heroic, but tactile and unsettled. Eidra exists between image and artefact; a figure that does not only refer to a person, but to a constructed presence made visible through the printing process.

The name Eidra is a free derivation of eidolon, a word that refers to an image, apparition or ghost-like figure. The name carries the meaning of a figure that is present as an image, but remains elusive, distorted and partly concealed.

Each version is unique because of the production method. Pressure, drying, firing and material behaviour leave subtle differences in every object.
