Gestures of the Facade — From Ornament to Autonomy
Additional images

Sanctum draws from the typology of a holy-water font, reinterpreted as a small architectural niche emerging from the wall. Its faceted surface, rounded frame and recessed interior create a tension between façade ornament and ritual object, transforming gestures of approaching, touching, carrying and preserving into an autonomous sculptural presence.
