Domestic Monuments starts from objects that are usually understood through their function. They belong to everyday life, to gestures and routines that feel so familiar that the objects around them often disappear into the background. Yet these forms shape the way a space is experienced: they give rhythm, presence and character to an interior.
Within this series, such objects are lifted out of the self-evidence of use. Their function remains present, but it is no longer the only way to understand them. An object does not need to be used in order to carry meaning; it can also stand, wait, mark a place and draw a space towards itself.
The works within Domestic Monuments are small monuments for the everyday. They exist on the edge between functional object and sculpture, between domesticity and autonomy. Their value lies not only in what they can do, but also in their posture, volume, surface and presence.
In the finishing, the making process remains deliberately visible. Digital traces, ceramic skin, colour gradients, gloss and matte surfaces are used as layers that do not hide the object, but deepen it. The material is allowed to remain visible where it does not obstruct the function; the finish is not a closing layer, but a way to reveal the construction, origin and physicality of the object.
The series gives weight to objects that normally belong to the background of daily life. They are not enlarged into public monuments, but given a monumental role within the interior: as forms with their own posture, function and expressive force.
